Install Windows Media Player on Windows 8 N and Windows 8 KN
The Media Feature Pack allows you to install Windows Media Player and its related technologies on the N and KN versions of Windows 8. These versions of Windows 8 are indeed offered without Microsoft's media player and without many features and applications (you can find the complete list here).
Supported versions of Windows 8
Windows 8 N, Windows 8 Pro N, Windows 8 Enterprise N, or Windows 8 KN, Windows 8 Pro KN, Windows 8 Enterprise KN.
